Process

NEOARCTIC is about the Anthropocene. A new geological age defined by human disturbance of the eco-system to an unprecedented extent. Humanity has become a ‘natural force’ that causes rapid, violent changes to the planet Earth. The performance investigates in what ways the Anthropocene can be expressed via aesthetical and musical mixed forms.

NEOARCTIC consists of 12 songs, each with its own visual expression and narrative. 10 of the songs have video, and my job was to create video which explained the theme of the song in a way that was easy to understand, but at the same time gave the audience thoughts to think about.

The process creating the material differed alot for each song. Some were made filming materials, and taking photos, while others were developed in 3D. All of the videos were then manipulated in After Effects to get the right visual expression.
